Photography, like almost any other art form, exercises both the body and mind. But how often do we pay attention to the latter?
Dr Deenaz Damania, a psychotherapist working with students for decades, conducted a special session for students of Batch 21. It was an open conversation about the importance of mental health and emotional well being.

Here’s what some of the students had to say about the session
“This session makes you aware of the mental health scenarios and it is something that makes you reflect on yourself and prepares you to take steps to make sure that you keep a check on your mental health. It’s going to make me more prepared to self-reflect and address any issues that I may feel.” – Saurabh. S S
“I felt heard in this session. Someone is speaking about things that have to be spoken about more. It was nice knowing that someone actually cares and is talking about it. Mental health is definitely something that needs more awareness. This was a good start.” – Abhishek.M
“The talk was very informative. The fact that it was so interactive was really nice. What I took away from the session is that it is very common for us to put aside our mental health, so I think that it is a good reminder on the first day of college that you have to make sure that you are doing your best both physically and mentally. The fact that the college actually took the effort to organise such a session on the first day was reassuring.” – Palak Dokania
