Life at LLA

World Photography Day
Alfred Eisenstaedt once said “It is more important to click with people than to click the shutter.” We at Light & Life Academy believe that this understanding is crucial to help students become photographers. This World Photography Day, LLA decided to give credit the unsung heroes of our society through photography. LLA celebrated the people without whose tireless hard work and dedication, the Nilgiris wouldn’t be the same. The students took portraits of the Municipal Workers, Policemen and women, Firefighters and the local armed forces of Ooty, Conoor and Kotagiri. Light & Life Academy made prints of the same and gifted it to them. The joy on their faces on receiving the portraits is something that we will surely remember for a lifetime. We also shared our joy for photography with children from the Annai Sathya children’s home in Ooty. There were a total of 63 children that joined us on the day from the Annai Sathya children’s home. The chief guests for the event were the collector of the Nilgiris Tmt. J. INNOCENT DIVYA, I.A.S. and the Superintendent of Police Mr. MURALI RAMBHA, IPS Our students took portraits of the kids in their element as they laughed, ran and played at the Botanical Garden. The children too were given their moment as photographers while the LLA students quickly took them through the paces. We can safely say that some of these children were absolute naturals and we wouldn’t be surprised if they picked up the camera in later years and become professional photographers themselves! Photography certainly lit up the lives of the students when they received their portraits and the pictures that they had captured themselves! To us, Photography has always been an art for the masses. It is a powerful tool that can be used to spread joy across the world. This World Photography day, we spread that joy across the Nilgiris!
