Light & Life Academy Turns 25
It was 21st March 2026, the day of the equinox, 25 years after the founding of Light & Life Academy.
As we marked this milestone, we were joined by many who have been part of the story from the very beginning. Alumni from 25 batches, faculty from across the years, well wishers from the Nilgiris, guests from the industry, and people who worked with us at different stages all came together in one place, reconnecting, sharing stories, and celebrating the journey.
The day was kickstarted by a Keynote Address by Mr. Shashi Sinha, Strategic Advisor, Omnicom Media, followed by the address by the Chief Guest Mr. N. Ram, The Hindu.
At the centre of the event was the panel discussion, Anything Goes? Ethics & the Evolution of Imaging.
The discussion brought together Mr. R Balki, filmmaker, Mr. Atul Kasbekar, photographer and producer, Ms. Priti David, Executive Editor, PARI, and Mr. Sudharshan A, Co founder, Ting. Moderated by Mr. Sudhanva Atri, the conversation looked at the changing nature of images today, especially in the age of AI.
The panel raised questions that are becoming more important for anyone working with images today. What happens to authorship when images can be generated or altered with ease? How do we think about truth, responsibility, consent, representation, and creative ownership in this new visual landscape? And where does the photographer stand in all of this?
We were also glad to hear from Mr. Amal Jajodia, Ex Vice President, Kodak India, and Mr. Jaisim, the architect of the Light & Life Academy campus.
After the speeches, the panel discussions, and the many catch-ups and reunions that continued across campus, there was still time for the LLA family to enjoy a great meal together - as always.
